                 MICROGEN PLC NAMES NEW GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR


Further to the announcement on 25 October 2006, the Board of Directors of
Microgen plc is pleased to announce that Philip Wood ACA will join Microgen as
Group Finance Director on 2 January 2007.


Mr Wood was Group Finance Director of AttentiV Systems Group plc ('AttentiV')
from  November 2003 to October 2005, having joined the Group in March 1998.
During his time as Group Finance Director of AttentiV, Mr Wood successfully
floated the company on AIM in March 2004 before overseeing the acquisition of
the company by TietoEnator Corporation in 2005.  Mr Wood, who qualified as a
Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in 1996, is currently Chief Financial
Officer of The CarbonNeutral Company Limited, a private equity backed carbon
trading company.


There are no further details required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraphs
9.6.13(2) to (6) of the UK Listing Authority Listing Rules.
