PAUL DAVIES AS GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR
With effect from 1 December 1999, Mr Paul Davies is to be
appointed Group Managing Director of Microgen plc, the
information management services company. Until September 1999, Mr
Davies was Chief Executive of Parity plc, which he joined in
1993, following a successful career which included the
appointment as the Managing Director of EASAMS, GECs IT company,
before which he ran the systems integration business of SD-Scicon

of profitability and earnings growth.
In this newly created role, Mr Davies (50) will take
responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Group and
report to Martyn Ratcliffe, Executive Chairman, who will focus on
the strategic development of Microgen. Mr Davies will also join
the Group Board of Directors, which will now comprise 3 executive
and 4 non-executive directors.
Martyn Ratcliffe, Executive Chairman of Microgen plc commented :
'I am extremely pleased that Paul has decided to join Microgen.
Over the past year the Group has undergone a major transformation
into a technology-leading IT services company, positioned at the
forefront of Application Service Provision (ASP), e-Billing and
Customer Relationship Management (CRM). In order to develop these
strategic opportunities, without compromising operational
performance, it is now appropriate to expand and strengthen the
senior management team. Pauls extensive experience and track
record in the IT services sector should provide the necessary
skills to manage and develop the Groups business operations
through the next phase, providing the foundation and
infrastructure for the strategic development of Microgen.'
