ARBUTHNOT BANKING GROUP PLC

Board Changes

As announced in our AGM statement on 14 May, Neil Kirton takes over as CEO of Arbuthnot Securities as from today, 1 June. Accordingly, Mark Brown has resigned from the Board of Arbuthnot Banking Group PLC ('the Board'), and Neil Kirton is appointed to the Board, both with effect from today.  Mark Brown will remain as a Managing Director of Arbuthnot Securities focusing on business generation and deal execution.

In addition, John Reed relinquishes his position as Director of Arbuthnot Banking Group with effect from today, and is appointed a Special Adviser to the Board on International Private Banking. He continues as Vice Chairman of Arbuthnot Latham & Co. Limited and with his other operational responsibilities.

Neil Kirton

Neil Kirton, aged 45, joined Arbuthnot Securities as Deputy Chief Executive in January 2006. Prior to this he was with ABN Amro Hoare Govett from 1985 to 2002 where he was Global Head of Equity Sales, Deputy Chief Executive of Hoare Govett (UK) Limited and a Managing Director of ABN Amro Bank NV. He was also Head of Equities at Bridgewell Securities from 2002 to 2004.

In the last 5 years Neil Kirton has been a director of the companies listed below:-

    Bridgewell Limited (resigned 4 April 2004)

    Arbuthnot Securities Limited
