Paul Lynam appointed Chief Executive of Secure Trust Bank PLC

Arbuthnot Banking Group PLC ("Arbuthnot") is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Anthony Lynam as chief executive of Secure Trust Bank, Arbuthnot's retail banking business, and to the Board of Arbuthnot.  Both appointments will take effect on 13 September, 2010.

Paul Lynam, aged 42, joins Arbuthnot from Royal Bank of Scotland Group where he was most recently managing director, banking and was responsible for 1.1 million SME customers and nearly 7,000 staff.

Paul's previous roles have included chief executive, UK Business Banking and managing director of Lombard North Central PLC. He holds banking (ACIB) and treasury qualifications (AMCT) and is a Governor of the IFS School of Finance.

Commenting on this appointment, Henry Angest, chairman and chief executive of Arbuthnot, said: "I am delighted to welcome Paul as chief executive of Secure Trust Bank and to the Board of Arbuthnot.  His extensive experience will be a significant contribution to the next phase of the Secure Trust's development, and I very much look forward to working with him."
