Royalty received from De Beers Consolidated Mines Limited ('De Beers')
The Company, through The Saturn Partnership ('the Partnership'), has received
its share of the royalty from De Beers in respect of the profits of the
Venetia diamond mine ('Venetia') for the six months to 31 December 1999
amounting to R258,2 million.
The total royalty for the period in question amounted to R295,1 million. This
compares to amounts of R92,7 million (the Company's share: R81,1 million) for
the six months to 30 June 1999 and R136,1 million (the Company's share: R119,1
million) for the six months to 31 December 1998.
The profits of Venetia are shared equally between the Partnership and
De Beers.
