Results of general and separate class meetings and notice of last day to
register

RESULTS OF THE GENERAL AND SEPARATE CLASS MEETINGS

Further to the salient dates announcement by Avmin dated Friday, 19 May 2000,
Deutsche Bank Securities SA (Pty) Limited is authorised to announce that, at
the general and separate class meetings of all shareholders in Avmin and
preference shareholders in Avmin, respectively, held on Monday, 12 June 2000,
the requisite majorities approved the resolutions necessary to give effect to:
-  the disposal by Avmin of its 87,5% interest in the Saturn Partnership;
-  the disposal by Avmin of its 20% interest in Finsch Diamonds (Proprietary)
Limited (together 'the disposal');
-  the cash distribution of R27,00 per share by Avmin to ordinary shareholders
('the distribution');
-  amendments to Avmin's share incentive schemes; and
-  the amendment to Avmin's articles of association.

The special resolution regarding the amendment to Avmin's articles of
association will be lodged with the Registrar of Companies today for
registration.

The disposal to De Beers Consolidated Mines Limited has, accordingly, become
unconditional and will be implemented in accordance with the terms outlined in
the previous announcement of Thursday, 3 February 2000 by the company.

NOTICE OF LAST DAY TO REGISTER
The last day to register in order to participate in the distribution will be
Friday, 30 June 2000 ('the record date'). Avmin shareholders registered as
such in the books of the company on the record date will be entitled to
receive R27,00 for every ordinary share held. Cheques in respect of the
distribution will be posted to shareholders on or about Friday, 7 July 2000,
at the risk of the shareholders concerned.
