Red Rabbit Drilling Results: Kiziltepe

2 August 2010 AIM / PLUS Markets: AAU RED RABBIT DRILLING RESULTS: KIZILTEPE Ariana Resources plc ("Ariana" or "the Company"), the gold exploration and development company focused on Turkey, is pleased to announce the results from the twenty-six most recent Reverse Circulation (RC) drill holes completed on the Banu and Derya veins at the Kiziltepe gold deposit.  The results are to be integrated within our new mineral resource estimate, which is currently being prepared as part of our feasibility study on Kiziltepe. Highlights * Gold-equivalent intersections of 12.28 g/t over 2m, 4.59 g/t over 14m and 3.31 g/t over 11m. * Peak gold-equivalent grade of 23.12 g/t over 1m. * Significant mineralisation intersected on all holes drilled. * Exploratory drilling in area under cover between Arzu South and Derya intersects buried vein system. Dr. Kerim Sener, Managing Director, commented: "These results underpin the integrity of the resource at the Kiziltepe deposit.  Apart from intersecting mineralised quartz vein in every hole - a flawless 'hit-rate' - the gold and silver grades encountered are robust and demonstrate economic potential.  It is also important to note that while many of the holes were drilled to increase drill-data density, several purely exploratory holes drilled on Derya also yielded significant mineralised and wide true-width intercepts." "This is especially important given these holes were collared in an area of little or no vein outcrop and were drilled on geophysical targets.  Based on these results, we are now confident that a vein system is fully developed between the Derya and Arzu South veins, which could add another 580m of mineralised strike to the deposit.  The improvement of grade in this area indicates that there is now scope to increase the size of the resource through further drilling of these vein extensions.  This discovery represents a very positive start to our Joint Venture with Proccea Construction Co. and justifies further drilling in this area this season." Details of Programme A field team from the Company's Turkish operating subsidiary, Galata Madencilik San. ve Tic. Ltd. Sti., supervised the completion of twenty-six RC drill holes (114.3 mm diameter) on the Banu and Derya veins.  The holes reported in this release totalled 1,853m of drilling.  The holes were drilled to depths of between 48m and 96m metres from surface and angled at 55-60 degrees along a 250m section of vein strike-length along Banu (Figure 1), and 400m along Derya (Figure 2).  Quartz veins, mineralised "halos" around the veins and stockwork were located in all twenty-six holes drilled in this programme.  Selected intersections are given in Table 1 below. The Banu and Derya veins have strike lengths of 750 and 650m respectively.  Both have consistent, potentially economic grades extending from the surface to depth.  Similar to the vein systems developed at Arzu North and South, both veins appear to have a mineralised "halo" of lower grade material developed in places.  This low grade "halo" consists of moderately altered volcanic rocks of dacitic composition containing minor stockworks.  The "halo" style of mineralisation is being modelled in the revised resource estimate and has the potential to add to the mineable tonnage and to decrease the effective strip-ratio of the modelled open pits. All samples from the drilling programme undertaken by Ariana Resources plc. have been prepared by the ALS Chemex preparation facility in Izmir and assayed by 30g fire assay at the ALS Chemex laboratory in Romania.  Routine re-assaying of all samples assaying greater than 10 g/t Au and 100 g/t Ag has also been completed by ALS Chemex.  Standard, blank and duplicate samples are being used in the sample batches, which is in line with the Company's quality control procedures.  Laboratory sample preparation, assaying procedures and chain of custody are appropriately controlled.  The Company maintains an archive of reference RC chip samples, in addition to all sample pulps and splits. The Company's flagship assets are its Sindirgi and Tavsan gold projects.  Both projects contain a series of prospects, within two prolific mineralised districts in the Western Anatolian Volcanic and Extensional (WAVE) Province in western Turkey.  This Province hosts the largest operating gold mines in Turkey and remains highly prospective for new porphyry and epithermal deposits.  These core projects, which are separated by a distance of 75km, are presently being assessed as to their economic merits and now form part of a Joint Venture with Proccea Construction Co.  The total resource inventory of the Company stands at 401,000 ounces of gold equivalent. Loeb Aron & Company Ltd. and Alexander David Securities Limited are joint brokers to the Company and Beaumont Cornish Limited is the Company's Nominated Adviser.
