NOTIFICATION OF INTEREST(S) IN SHARES UNDER SECTION 198 COMPANIES ACT 1985

We have been advised today that Nomura International plc now hold 12,963,850
ordinary shares of 0.1p each in ARC International plc representing 4.73% of the
issued share capital of 273,959,400.

By virtue of section 203(2) of the Act The Nomura Securities Co., Ltd is also
deemed to be interested in the shares.
