Issue of Equity

Artemis Alpha Trust plc (the "Company") announces that the Directors of the Company have today issued and allotted, subject to listing, 7,973 Ordinary Shares of 1p each in the capital of the Company in connection with the exercise of subscription rights by holders of a corresponding number of Subscription Shares. 

It is expected that admission to the Official List and commencement of dealings in these Ordinary Shares on the London Stock Exchange will take place at 8.00 a.m. on 17 January 2011.

The shares in issue following this notification are 48,825,239 Ordinary Shares and 6,886,365 Subscription Shares. 551,500 Ordinary Shares are held by the Company in treasury.  The total voting rights attaching to the Ordinary Shares in issue are 48,273,739 votes.  The Subscription Shares do not carry any voting rights.
