Artemis Alpha Trust plc (the 'Company')

Block Listing application

The Company has today applied to the UK Listing Authority and to the London
Stock Exchange for a block listing of up to 1,000,000 ordinary shares of 1p each
in the Company, which may be issued from time to time for cash. The application
is expected to be effective on Monday, 8 August 2005.

Any new ordinary shares issued for cash under the block listing will be issued
at a premium to the net asset value of the shares at the time of allotment and
the new shares will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares of 1p
each.
