Artemis Alpha Trust PLC 05 April 2006 ARTEMIS ALPHA TRUST PLC (the 'Company') Appointment of non-executive Director The Board of Directors of the Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Tom Cross Brown as a non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 5 April 2006. Mr Cross Brown was, until 2003, Global Chief Executive Officer of ABN AMRO Asset Management, having previously been Chief Executive Officer of ABN AMRO Asset Management in the UK and Global Head of Business Development. Prior to joining ABN AMRO, Mr Cross Brown spent 21 years at Lazard Brothers & Co. and was Chief Executive of Lazard Brothers Asset Management Limited between 1994 and 1997. He is currently holds a number of board appointments including several life insurance companies and pension funds and was previously a director of Artemis Investment Management Limited. Through his positions at ABN Amro Asset Management and Artemis Investment Management Limited, Mr Cross Brown is not considered to be independent, for the purposes of the Combined Code on Corporate Governance, however, he is considered by the Directors to be independent in character and judgement. It is confirmed that there are no details to be disclosed concerning Mr Cross Brown under paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
