Appointment of Additional Non-Executive Director

Anite plc ("Anite" or "the Company"), the leading provider of software solutions to the international wireless and leisure travel industries,today announces the appointment of Patrick De Smedt as an additional Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from the close of its Annual General Meeting on 26 September 2013.

Patrick, a Belgian citizen, is currently Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee of Victrex plc and Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee of Morgan Sindall Group plc. He is also Chairman of Workplace Systems International and Non-Executive Director of Easynet Global Services. His earlier career included 23 years with Microsoft during which time he founded the Benelux subsidiaries, led the development of its Western European business and became Chairman of Microsoft EMEA.

Patrick will become a member of the Audit and Nomination Committees of the Board and will succeed David Hurst-Brown as Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. David will remain on the Board as a Non-Executive Director, but as he will reach the ninth anniversary of his appointment on 24 August 2013, he will no longer be considered independent under the rules of the UK Corporate Governance Code.
