Please note that the announcement released on 2 January 2018 at 17.13hrs (RNS No: 7714A) included figures of 187,104,989 (as the number of Issued Ordinary Shares (excluding treasury shares) and the total number of Ordinary shares with voting rights in the Company) and 13,794,067 (for the number of Ordinary shares held in treasury); these figures should have read 186,971,029 and 13,928,027, respectively.

PURCHASE OF OWN ORDINARY SHARES

On 2 January 2018, the Company purchased in the market 146,600 Ordinary shares at a price of 376.3288 pence per share. These shares will be held in treasury. Following the transaction, the Company's share capital comprises:

186,971,029 Issued Ordinary shares (excluding treasury shares)

13,928,027 Ordinary shares held in treasury

200,899,056 Issued Ordinary shares (including treasury shares)

The total number of Ordinary shares with voting rights in the Company is 186,971,029 and this figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
