AGM STATEMENT
* Sales up 86% in first five months for ASOS.com
* 2 new buyers appointed
* 369,000 registered users as at 31 August 2004
* Appointed exclusive on-line retail partner for Miss Sixty in the UK
* Very confident about the outlook for the year
Nick Robertson, the Chief Executive, will make the following comments on current
trading at the Annual General Meeting to be held at 2.30 pm today at Seymour
Pierce Limited, 13th Floor, Bucklersbury House, 3 Queen Victoria Street, EC4N
8EL.
'Sales for ASOS.com increased by 86% in the five months ended 31 August 2004.
This is a good performance and partly reflects the positive contribution to
sales of our new buyers and departments.
The planned expansion of the buying team is now complete with the appointment of
a Beauty Category Manager from Superdrug and a Footwear Buyer from Miss
Selfridge. Both will be on-board before the all important Christmas trading
period.
The registered customer base now stands at 369,000, up from 339,600 at end of
June 2004.
Recent Initiatives include
•We have been appointed by Miss Sixty as their exclusive on-line retailer
partner in the UK.
•From November, we replace Boden, as Egg's exclusive apparel partner
•We will be live on Amazon.com as a preferred apparel partner before
Christmas
Outlook
We remain very confident about the outlook for this year and believe the
business to be in excellent shape as we gear up for Christmas.'
