Rupert Gould Appointed as Non-Executive Director

Associated British Engineering plc ('ABE') announces that it has appointed
Rupert Anthony Pearce  Gould as a non-executive director of ABE with effect
from today.

Mr Pearce Gould is a director of Sovereign Reversions plc which is traded on
OFEX.

There are no further details to be disclosed pursuant to rule 6F2 (b) - (g) of
the Listing Rules.
