Completion of US herbs and spices Acquisition


Associated British Foods plc, the international food, ingredients and retail
group, today announced the completion of its acquisition of the US herbs and
spices business of Burns Philp, as announced on 22 July 2004.  Completion of the
acquisition of its international yeast, yeast extracts and bakery ingredients
businesses will be the subject of a future announcement.
