              Completion of the acquisition of Littlewoods Stores.

Associated British Foods plc, the international food, ingredients and retail
group, today announced the completion of its acquisition of  Littlewoods Stores
Holdings Limited and St James Street Properties Limited from LW Finance.  The
acquisition, announced on 11 July 2005, comprises 120 Littlewoods stores
covering high street locations across the UK.
