Associated British Foods plc has today appointed Tim Clarke as a non-executive
director. Mr Clarke is chief executive of Mitchells and Butlers plc and was
formerly chief executive of Six Continents PLC prior to the demerger of
Mitchells and Butlers.


The Board looks forward to the valuable contribution Mr Clarke will make to the
Company.
