NOTIFICATION OF BOARD CHANGES PURSUANT TO LISTING RULE 16.7

Harold Bailey, Chairman of Associated British Foods plc, has decided to retire
from the Board at the Company's Annual General Meeting on 5 December 2002.
Martin Adamson, a non-executive Director of the Company since October 1999, will
become non-executive Chairman.
