Associated British Foods plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Charles Sinclair as an independent non-executive director, with effect from 1 October 2008. Charles Sinclair is currently chief executive of Daily Mail and General Trust plc but will be retiring from this role and the board on the 30 September 2008.

Charles Sinclair is a non-executive director of SVG Capital plc.
