Professor Sir Roland Smith is retiring as a Non-Executive Director with effect
from 13 September 2003, being the end of the Company's current financial year.
Sir Roland has been a director of the Company since 1994.

The Rt Hon Lord MacGregor will take up the position of Senior Independent
Director.
