Clare Hollingsworth joins Assura's Board of Directors
Assura, one of the leading health care companies in the UK, partnering with GPs to deliver high quality patient
care in the community, innovative property solutions and consumer responsive pharmacy services, today
announces that Clare Hollingsworth has been appointed to the Board as a Non-Executive Director. She
will replace Fred Porter who has announced his intention to stand down from the Board at and with effect from
the Company's 2008 Annual General Meeting on 6 August 2008.
Clare is the Non-Executive Deputy Chairman and former Chief Executive of Spire Healthcare Limited, the
Cinven vehicle which acquired BUPA Hospitals in 2007, and one of the leading private hospital providers in
the UK. Prior to that Clare was Managing Director of BUPA Hospitals from 1999 to 2007 and Managing Director
of Caledonian Airways between 1990 and 1997 which she was subsequently a Non-Executive Director of from
1997 to 1999.
Clare is a member of the CBI Public Services Strategy Board and Healthcare Panel and has previously been a Member of the Secretary of State for Health's 'Sounding Board'; a Director of the Independent Healthcare Forum; and Chairman of The Independent Healthcare Association.
She is a currently a Non-Executive Director of Spire Healthcare Ltd and USP Hospitales, a Spanish private hospitals group.
