Directorate Changes
Assura plc ("Assura" or the "Company"), the UK's leading primary care property investor and developer, announces that Jenefer Greenwood intends to retire as non-executive director of the Company at the conclusion of the 2021 Annual General Meeting ("AGM") on 6 July 2021.
Jenefer was appointed to the Board in 2012 and serves as Chair of the Remuneration Committee. Louise Fowler, who joined the Board in June 2019, will take over as Chair of the Remuneration Committee after the AGM.
To support Assura's ambitious growth agenda, the board intends to appoint Emma Cariaga, Noel Gordon and Dr Sam Barrell CBE as non-executive directors on 1 May 2021.
Emma is the Joint Head of Canada Water Development on the Executive Committee of British Land and brings strong property skills and experience to Assura. Prior to British Land she worked at LandSec and in development and land management at Barratt and Crest Nicholson.
Noel is a recognised figure across the UK health system, with a strong background in digital technologies across several industries. His previous positions include Global Managing Director in Accenture, Chair of NHS Digital and as a non-executive d irector on the Board of NHS England.
Sam is the Chief Operating Officer of the Crick Institute responsible for leading the operational management and running of the institute. Prior to the Crick Institute she was Chief Executive of the Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and is currently a non-executive director of York Health Economics Consortium, a subsidiary of York University.
Both Noel and Sam bring direct experience of the NHS and the provider landscape.
