Following the acquisition of £30.5m of capacity in the first 1999 Lloyd's
auction, Amlin announces that, in the second auction, it has acquired a
further £15.0 million of capacity on its managed syndicates at an average
price of 6.2p per £ of capacity.  With these purchases Amlin will own
approximately 46% of the capacity on its managed syndicates for the 2000 year
of account. There are 5 more auctions during 1999 and Amlin hopes to continue
to increase its ownership on its managed syndicates.
