                               Additional Listing

A block listing application has been made by Amlin plc (the 'Company') for
1,650,000 ordinary shares of 25p each in the Company to be admitted to the
Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the London Stock
Exchange. The shares will be issued fully paid and will rank pari passu in all
respects with the existing issued ordinary shares of the Company.

Of the 1,650,000 shares, 450,000 shares will be issued pursuant to the Amlin
Executive Share Option Scheme 1997 (Approved), and 1,200,000 shares will be
issued pursuant to the Amlin Executive Share Option Scheme 1997 (Unapproved).
