John Mumford - New Underwriter of Harvey Bowring

Mr John Mumford, who is currently Active Underwriter of Syndicate 1141 has
been appointed as Underwriter of Harvey Bowring & Others, the leading property
casualty business in Syndicate 2001.  Mr Mumford replaces Mr David Shipley who
has given notice of his resignation.

Mr Trevor Clegg, who has been with Syndicate 1141 since 1990, will assume the
position of Active Underwriter of Syndicate 1141 until that Syndicate is
merged with Syndicate 2001.

These appointments are subject to Lloyd's regulatory approval.
