BOARD RETIREMENT AND APPOINTMENT
The Board of Amlin announces the retirement of Mr W Donald Sullivan as a non
executive Director of the Company, to take effect on 1 September 2001, and the
appointment of Mr Roger Joslin as a non executive Director from the same date.
Mr Joslin is Vice Chairman of Amlin's 13% US shareholder, State Farm Mutual
Automobile Insurance Company. He is also a member of the boards of State Farm
Fire and Casualty Company and State Farm Life Insurance Company. He serves on
the executive and investment committees of these three principal companies in
the State Farm Insurance Group.
The retirement of Mr Sullivan, who has served on the Amlin board since 1998,
coincides with his retirement from State Farm.
Roger Taylor, Chairman of Amlin, says:
'Don Sullivan has contributed greatly to our board over the last three years and
we wish him well in his retirement. We look forward to working with Roger
Joslin, whose wide experience of the insurance industry will also be greatly to
Amlin's benefit.'
