Risk based capital ratio loading lifted
Amlin plc has been notified by Lloyd's that it has removed the loading, which
was imposed in June 1999, of 10% in the risk assessment computation used to
calculate the minimum capital required of Lloyd's members on syndicate 2001
for the 2000 year of account.
Sale of Whittington
The sale of the Whittington Group, which was announced by Amlin in September
1999, has been successfully completed.
Charles Philipps, Chief Executive said:
'The removal of the loading will allow us to utilise our capital efficiently
in a hardening market. The sale of Whittington emphasises the Group's
commitment to focussing upon our underwriting activities.'
