We hereby inform you that, with effect from 7 April 2005, Marcus Wallenberg, a
Director of the Company, is no longer deemed to have an interest in 3,618
AstraZeneca Ordinary Shares of USD0.25 each, held in the name of one of his
children who, on 7 April 2005, attained the age of eighteen years.
Consequently, Mr Wallenberg's interest in AstraZeneca Ordinary Shares has
reduced to 67,264 shares, which represents approximately 0.004 per cent of the
number of shares currently in issue.
