Disclosure of Interest in Voting Shares in Public Companies

On 1 November 2005, we were informed by The Capital Group Companies, Inc., a
registered investment manager in the US, that on 28 October 2005 its interest in
the USD0.25 Ordinary Shares of AstraZeneca PLC had increased to 191,743,910
shares (12.00 per cent of the current issued ordinary capital) from the
previously notified level of 191,083,356 shares (11.96 per cent).
