PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2005


AstraZeneca PLC announced today the publication of its Notice of Annual General
Meeting for 2005 together with letters from the Chairman of the Board and the
Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, a Shareholders' Circular and Proxy Form.
The date of the AGM is 28 April 2005.  Copies are available on the Company's
