COURT DENIES GENERIC'S APPLICATION FOR SUMMARY JUDGEMENT ON PRILOSEC PATENT

AstraZeneca announced today that the United States District Court for the
Southern District of New York has denied a summary judgement motion filed by
Reddy-Cheminor alleging invalidity of a patent (US patent no:4,255,431) at
issue in a lawsuit.  The patent relates to omeprazole, the active ingredient
in Prilosec, a treatment for stomach acid disorders.
