Directorate Appointment

Equatorial Mining & Exploration Plc, an ISDX listed solid minerals exploration company, announces the appointment of Simon Retter to the board as a Non Executive Director.

Simon James Retter ACA, age 33, started his career at Deloitte in assurance and advisory, qualifying as a chartered accountant before focusing on corporate finance transactions and IPO's. In 2010 Simon was instrumental in the listing of Paragon Diamonds Ltd on AIM and has maintained the role of finance director since its inception. Simon has played a critical role in numerous fund raisings, origination & execution of corporate transactions including acquisitions over the last 4 years for Paragon.

Simon will be the Company's independent director and will chair the remuneration and audit committees.  He will also act as the Company's interim finance director which will be a short term role until the planned appointment of a full time finance director is made.

There are no further disclosures as required by Appendix 1, section 21 of the ISDX Rules for Issuers.
