                        SIGNIFICANT NEW CONTRACT AWARDS
          Six Contracts Expected to Generate Fees In Excess of £2.8m
                                       
Aukett  Associates  PLC ('Aukett' or the 'Company'), one of  Europe's  leading
building  design practices, announces that it has been awarded six significant
new  contracts  across four countries. The total construction value  of  these
contracts is approximately £58 million. Three of the commissions are from  new
clients,  including Marconi Electronic Systems and Oracle. The  contracts  are
expected  to generate total fee income in excess of £2.8 million, the majority
of  which  will be earned during the next financial year ending  30  September
2000.

Details are as follows:

Akeler Developments         Appointment   to  refurbish  an  existing   office
                            building  at  Marlow,  Buckinghamshire,  totalling
                            22,000 sq. m.
                            
Marconi Electronic Systems  New  office and research and development building,
                            totalling 7,500 sq. m. at Basildon, Essex.
                            
An Israeli International    Refurbishment  of existing building consisting  of
Property Developer          16,000  sq. m. and construction of a new  building
                            consisting of 20,000 sq. m. in an historical  19th
                            century residential quarter of Prague.
                            
Level 3 Communications      Construction  of  a 25,000 sq.  m.  IP  (Internet)
                            Gateway  facility  in London. This  is  the  sixth
                            instruction during the last 12 months  from  Level
                            3,  following commissions in Amsterdam,  Brussels,
                            Frankfurt, Paris and London.
                            
Nortel                      Design   of   a   new  headquarters  building   in
                            Hoofdorp, near Amsterdam, totalling 12,000 sq.  m.
                            for this tele-communications group.
                            
Oracle                      Project  management,  design and  move  management
                            for  a  fit-out  of 17,000 sq. m.  of  offices  in
                            Munich.

Commenting  on  the  awards,  Andrew Lett, Aukett's  Managing  Director  said:
