                AUKETT ASSOCIATES PLC: OPENING OF CITY OFFIC;
                                CONTRACT GAINS
                                       
Aukett Associates PLC ('Aukett'), the international architectural, design and
engineering practice, which trades as Aukett Europe, announces that it is to
open a new office in the City of London in September.  This will be the
Group's second office in London, being a 'sister' operation to the 250-strong
head office in Battersea and an addition to the eleven other Aukett offices in
ten countries across Europe.

The opening coincides with significant contract gains for fit-out and
refurbishment work in the City, in particular a number of new projects for BT
and Platform 7, a leading provider of smart card and e-commerce security
products.  Other current Aukett Europe projects in the City include work for,
Level 3 Communications, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Royal & Sun Alliance and
Railtrack.

Commenting, Andrew Lett, Chairman of Aukett said: 'Aukett Europe has always
had a solid client base in the City and increasingly, a large proportion of
that work is categorised as coming from the 'churn sector' for companies
undergoing change and reorganisation.  With the launch of this new office, we
will capitalise on that market demand by providing a dedicated and focused
resource in the heart of the City.'

He added: 'The internet, mobile communications, 'hot-desking' and teleworking
have significantly changed the nature of business and work cultures. In
addition, mergers and acquisitions are presenting organisations with new
issues of relocation, space planning and the integration of different work
cultures. Aukett Europe has particular expertise in this area with many years
of experience among blue chip clients.'
