AUKETT GROUP PLC: TRADING STATEMENT
Aukett Group Plc, the architecture, design and engineering consultancy, released
its Preliminary Announcement of Results for the year ended 30 September 2001 on
28 January 2002. The Chairman's Statement referred to the slowdown and deferral
of major projects, particularly in the United Kingdom. In addition, the
statement commented that the tough trading conditions experienced during the
first quarter of the current financial year were likely to continue for some
time. The Board now confirms that these matters have not improved during the
second quarter and the Group is expected to show a loss for the six months
ending 31 March 2002 (2001: £461,000 profit).
It remains the case that the projected order book across most of the Group is
looking more solid for the second half of the year, although the level and
timing of any improvement in turnover and profitability over the first half is
still uncertain.
