                        Notice of Annual General Meeting

Avacta announces that the Annual General Meeting of the Company will be held at
2.00 pm on 14 December 2007 at the offices of Walker Morris, Kings Court, 12
King Street, Leeds LS1 2HL.

The Notice of AGM and form of proxy have been posted to shareholders and are
available on the Company's website at www.avacta.com.  The Annual Report and
Accounts for the year ended 31 July 2007 were distributed to shareholders on 29
October 2007.
