Avingtrans plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Roger McDowell as
Non-executive Director with immediate effect pending his appointment as
Non-executive Chairman from March 10th 2008 on the retirement from the Board of
Ken Baker O.B.E.


After University Roger worked for some 20 years with Oliver Ashworth Ltd., a
pipeline manufacturing, products and supplies company, of which he was
subsequently Managing Director. He was instrumental in growing sales from £1
million to over £100 million and achieving a full listing on the London Stock
Exchange, before in 1998 selling the business successfully to a French
industrial company. Since then, Roger has held a number of non-executive
appointments in both private, Official List and AIM quoted companies
predominantly in the engineering sector.


Ken Baker, who communicated his intention to retire from Avingtrans plc 12
months ago has been with Avingtrans for 6 years during which time he has
masterminded the Company's transition from a cash shell into the ambitious
engineering group that it is today. The Board would like to thank Ken for his
invaluable contribution to the Company. Ken has agreed a 3 month consultancy
agreement to ensure continuity through this transition period and will continue
as chairman of Vehicle Occupancy Limited (VOL) the technology business in which
Avingtrans has a 7% shareholding.

Mr McDowell holds 925,000 ordinary shares of 5 pence in the Company representing
approximately 5.3 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.


Mr McDowell was the non-executive chairman of Town Index Limited when it was
subject to creditors voluntary liquidation in January 2001. Mr McDowell was
non-executive chairman of Wax Digital Limited when it was subject to creditors
voluntary liquidation in June 2001. Mr McDowell was non-executive director of
Advanced Fluid Connections plc when it was placed into administration in March
2006.


There is no further information in respect of the above appointment required to
be disclosed pursuant to paragraph (g) of Schedule 2 to the AIM Rules for
Companies.
