                           Aviva plc (the 'Company')


Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange Plc and the UK Listing
Authority for 91,961 ordinary shares of 25 pence each ('shares') to be admitted
to the Official List.


These shares are being listed as additional consideration in connection with the
Company's acquisition of UK Property Gold Limited in December 1999.


These shares will rank pari passu with the existing issued ordinary shares.
