Aviva plc in talks with IAG regarding sale of general insurance businesses in
Australia and New Zealand

Following an unsolicited approach from Insurance Australia Group Limited
('IAG'), Aviva plc ('Aviva') confirms that it is in discussions concerning the
sale of its general insurance operations in Australia and New Zealand.

A further announcement will be made in due course regarding the outcome of
current negotiations.
