Aviva Life International seminar
Aviva plc ('Aviva') will hold a seminar today for investors and analysts
covering the group's continental European and international life businesses.
The seminar will be hosted by Philip Scott, Executive Director with
responsibility for these businesses. There will be specific presentations on our
operations in France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Asia and in addition, a
presentation on the management of guarantees in these businesses.
Key themes from the presentation are:
• World-class bancassurance development (23% of 2003 group life and pensions
new business on an APE basis) with partnerships across many markets creating
value for shareholders at an early stage of development.
• France: attractive growth opportunities and economics from the forthcoming
Credit du Nord partnership and a focus on margin growth from unit-linked
sales.
• Netherlands: turnaround market where Delta Lloyd is benefiting from the
ABN AMRO joint venture, pricing and cost improvements.
• Italy: good market growth outlook, new distribution through BPU and stable
margins.
• Spain: strong growth prospects from increasing bank client penetration and
expected growth in the market.
• Asia: platform in place, increased focus and resources into this region.
• Guarantees: strict control of exposure and rigorous risk management.
