Aviva PLC 18 March 2004 News release 18 March 2004 AVIVA ANNOUNCES NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR CHANGE Aviva plc ('Aviva') announces that Anna Catalano, an independent non-executive director, has decided not to seek election by shareholders of Aviva plc at the annual general meeting to be held on 27 April 2004. She joined the Board of Aviva plc in May 2003 and in accordance with the Company's articles of association was due to stand for election by shareholders at the first AGM following her appointment. At the time of joining the board she was Group Vice-President of Marketing, BP plc and subsequently left BP at the end of 2003. Anna has now decided to focus her attention on developing her full-time career, which may include opportunities in the United States. Pehr Gyllenhammar, Aviva's chairman, said: 'I understand and respect Anna's decision to concentrate on seeking a new and challenging executive position which will give full scope to her wide experience and considerable talents.' In light of Anna Catalano's resignation, the resolution relating to her election to the board, which was due to be put to shareholders at the forthcoming AGM on 27 April 2004, will not now be put to the meeting.
