ARORA STEPS DOWN FROM AVIVA TO TAKE UP GOOGLE ROLE
Aviva plc ('Aviva') announces that Nikesh Arora, independent non-executive director, has resigned from the Aviva board.
Nikesh was appointed to the Aviva board on 1 July 2007, but his relocation to California to take up new management responsibilities at Google, will mean that he is no longer able to commit time to the Aviva plc board.
Lord Sharman of Redlynch, chairman of Aviva, said: 'Although we are delighted that Nikesh has been given significant new responsibilities at Google, we are very sorry to lose him from our board. He has brought a refreshing new dimension to many of our discussions and made a significant contribution as a board member.'
