AVIVA APPOINTS NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Aviva plc ('Aviva') has appointed Lord Sharman of Redlynch OBE as a new
independent non-executive director.
Colin Sharman, 61, is chairman of Aegis Group plc and deputy chairman of Group 4
Securicor plc. He is an independent non-executive director of BG Group plc and
Reed Elsevier plc and a member of the supervisory board of ABN AMRO NV. He is a
former independent non-executive director of Young & Co.'s Brewery PLC and AEA
Technology plc. Lord Sharman spent most of his career at KPMG where he became
chairman of KPMG International before his retirement in 1999.
The appointment is with immediate effect.
Pehr Gyllenhammar, Aviva's chairman, said: 'Colin has a very strong financial
background and a wealth of international business experience - I am delighted
that he has agreed to join the Aviva Board.'
