Merger of CGU plc ('CGU') and Norwich Union plc ('Norwich Union')
The Scheme of Arrangement effecting the merger of CGU and Norwich Union became
effective today, Tuesday 30th May 2000.
In accordance with the terms of the merger, and with effect from today's date:
1. CGU has changed its name to CGNU plc,
2. The following individuals are appointed directors of the Company: -
George Paul Deputy Chairman
Richard Harvey Deputy Group Chief Executive
Philip Scott Group Executive Director, responsible for UK Life
Mike Biggs Group Executive Director, responsible for UK General
Guillermo de la Dehesa Non Executive Director
Sir Michael Partridge Non Executive Director
Alan Perelman Non Executive Director
Elizabeth Vallance Non Executive Director
3. The following directors retire from the Board of CGNU: -

Sir Tim Lankester
The Rt. Hon. Lord Lang of Monkton
