AVIVA ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS' RESPONSIBILITIES

Aviva plc, the savings, investments and insurance group, has announced changes
in its executive directors' responsibilities to support the further development
of the group.

Patrick Snowball, currently group executive director, General Insurance, will
become group executive director, Aviva UK and will be responsible for the
group's UK businesses - Norwich Union Life, Norwich Union Insurance and RAC -
with the exception of Morley Fund Management.  Patrick Snowball will also become
executive chairman of Norwich Union Life.  Gary Withers, chief executive,
Norwich Union Life, Mark Hodges, managing director, Norwich Union General
Insurance and Simon Machell, managing director, RAC, will continue in their
roles, reporting directly to Patrick Snowball.

Philip Scott, currently group executive director, Life International, will
become group executive director, Aviva International and will be responsible for
all of Aviva's life and long-term savings and general insurance businesses
outside the UK, including those in Canada and Ireland for which Patrick Snowball
was previously responsible.  Philip Scott will also continue to be chairman of
Morley Fund Management.

Andrew Moss will continue in his role as group finance director.

Commenting today Richard Harvey, Aviva group chief executive, said, 'These
changes will help us take the group forward to the next stage of its
development.  In the UK, the integration of RAC has progressed as planned.  We
now have a stable of very strong brands and, under Patrick's direction, there
are further benefits to be realised from these businesses working together to
improve our customer offering and our market effectiveness.  Philip Scott's
expertise in managing an international portfolio of businesses will also bring
benefits in knowledge transfer across the group and greater co-operation in
leveraging skills and resources.'
