Aviva France sells holding in Societe Fonciere Lyonnaise


Aviva plc ('Aviva') announces that its subsidiary Aviva France has sold its
31.4% holding in Societe Fonciere Lyonnaise (SFL), a listed French property
company, Inmobiliaria Colonial, S.A., for Euro 427 million.

Aviva's 2003 accounts included Euro 398 million relating to its share of SFL's
net assets and Euro 5.7 million relating to the share of pre-tax operating
profits, excluding capital gains.
