New CEO of Europe appointed

Aviva PLC 31 March 2008 News release 31 March 2008 AVIVA APPOINTS NEW CEO FOR EUROPE Aviva, the international savings, investments and insurance group, has appointed Andrea Moneta as CEO, Aviva Europe. Andrea is currently managing director of Dubai Financial Group and will join Aviva on 1 July. He will be a member of Aviva's group executive committee, reporting directly to group chief executive Andrew Moss. Andrea has extensive experience in the European financial services arena. Before joining Dubai Financial Group, he spent seven years at UniCredit, where he held a number of roles including Group Chief Financial Officer and head of the Private & Asset Management Division. He was head of the New Europe Division of UniCredit, with responsibility for operations in ten Central European markets, before leading the integration of UniCredit and HVB/BA-CA - one of Europe's largest ever banking mergers. Having successfully completed that merger, Andrea was given additional responsibility for the enlarged banking business in Central and Eastern Europe, with operations in 18 countries. Prior to joining UniCredit, Andrea worked as head of strategic planning at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt. He began his career at Andersen Consulting, Financial Services. Aviva's European operations are the biggest contributor to the group's operating profit. The company has a presence in 15 countries across Europe, selling long-term savings, investment and general insurance products through a range of distribution channels, with a particular strength in bancassurance. In 2007, bancassurance accounted for 51% of Aviva's European sales.
