CGNU plc announces that Alan Perelman has resigned, with immediate effect, as a 
non-executive director of the Company.  Mr Perelman has been a non-executive
director of CGNU since the merger of CGU plc and Norwich Union plc in May 2000
and prior to that had been a non-executive director of Norwich Union plc since
1995.
