THE XM50 JOINT SERVICE GENERAL PURPOSE MASK (JSGPM) Avon Rubber & Plastics Inc., Cadillac, Michigan, has been awarded the Program Definition and Risk Reduction phase (PDRR) of the Joint Service General Purpose Mask (JSGPM) contract issued by the US Army Soldier, Biological and Chemical Command. The Avon led team includes Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) of San Diego, California, Guild Associates of Columbus, Ohio, and the Joint Services of the U.S. Department of Defense as members of the Program Integrated Product Teams. It is estimated that the contract will employ some 82 scientists, engineers and technicians in total and was won on the basis of best overall value to the US Government.
